GREAT EXPECTATIONS

"A close and tight-knit ensemble"

A Younger Theatre

Written by Charles Dickens.
Adapted by Marcus Bazley, with the company.

Running time: approximately 2 hours 20 minutes, including a 20 minute interval.

2015, 2020 -

Originally performed in 2015, Great Expectations was Cyphers' first novel adaptation.

Pip returns to the ruins of a house that had changed the course of his life. There, he is forced to confront his past.

Memories flood back, as he pieces together the events that made him the person he has become.

Thrilling and dramatic, but equally full of humour and love - Dickens' words are brought to life in this bold, physical and  deeply moving adaptation.

"This is one of the great human stories. We are all, on some level, afflicted by past memories and trauma, which will at some point force themselves into the present.

In our version, we have embraced the first-person narrative and told the story through Pip's eyes. We exist in a world of his creation but over which he doesn't necessarily have control."
