Privacy Policy

At Cyphers, we are committed to safeguarding and preserving the privacy of those who engage with our activities. This Privacy Policy explains what happens to any personal data that you provide to us, or that we collect from you whilst you visit our site. 

We do update this Policy from time to time so please do review this Policy regularly. 

Information We Collect 

In running and maintaining our website we may collect and process the following data about you: 

  1. Information about your use of our site including details of your visits such as pages viewed and the resources that you access. Such information includes traffic data, location data and other communication data. 

  2. Information provided voluntarily by you. For example, when you sign up to our mailing list. 

  3. Information that you provide when you communicate with us by other means, such as email. 

Cookies  

Cookies are small text files that websites save to your computer so that the website can remember what you have looked at or remember your settings for that website. If you do not wish to use cookies, you can adjust your internet browser to disable cookies however this may affect your access to websites.  

 

Mailing List 

By signing up to our mailing list, you agree to receive our Cyphers newsletter which contains information on relevant upcoming theatre productions (our own and those featuring Cyphers ensemble members), our Creative Learning programme and other news (including fundraising campaigns).  

 

We will securely store any personal information which you provide us during the sign-up process, e.g. name and contact details.   

 

We will refresh your details within two years, by asking you to confirm that you wish us to continue to store this information and/or to update your preferences. 

Participation

 

If you are attending a Cyphers Theatre Company production or event, your booking data (name, contact details and the event you attending) may be shared between Cyphers and the venue if it is deemed necessary (e.g. in order for you to receive the information needed to attend the event you have booked). We do not process payments and therefore do not receive or store data such as credit card details. Please consult the privacy policy of our third party booking sites and venues. 

If you take part in our Creative Learning activities, such as Cyphers Create, we will collect your name and contact address so that we can co-ordinate your participation in the programme. We will not add you to our mailing list on completion of the activity unless we have evidence (e.g. a sign-up form) of your permission to do so.  

We may also collect additional personal information for Creative Learning activities through Equal Opportunities forms – including your school / university, year of study, educational background, ethnicity and gender identity. This personal information is collected anonymously, stored securely, will not be used for any other means than monitoring and will not have an effect on your participation in the programme. This information is necessary to so that we can monitor and report to funders on our Creative Learning. Collating the data also enables us to improve our delivery and diversity. You have the right to not fill out an Equal Opportunities form. 

If you support our fundraising efforts by making a donation, we will also collect information on the event you have attended / supported and the value of your donation so that we can maintain appropriate records. If you do not wish your information used in this way, please contact: info@cyphers.org.uk 

 

Data Protection 

We will not sell, trade, or rent your personal information without your permission and we will only use your information in accordance with your decisions.  

Opting Out 

If at any time you wish to be removed from our mailing list, simply send an email to info@cyphers.org.uk or click on the link at the bottom of any of our newsletters to unsubscribe.  

You have the right to unsubscribe and withdraw consent at any point.  

The personal data you provide to Cyphers Theatre Company will be stored securely in accordance with the 1998 Data Protection Act. If you feel your data is mishandled, you have the right to make any appropriate complaint to the ICO. 

We may release your personal information or use your information other than as stated in this Policy, if we believe it is necessary to comply with laws or regulations or to protect our services and other users.
